Dr. Kevin Nozawa, D.C
Dr. Nozawa was born and raised in Southern California. He became interested in Chiropractic after being injured on the job while working for UPS. It was during Christmas time when he fell about 5 feet out of a truck onto a steel dock severely injuring his lower back. Dr. Nozawa was immediately sent to the Industrial Medical Center where he was examined and quickly released with prescriptions for pain and inflammation and instructed to remain off work for 3 weeks. After a couple follow-up appointments and no improvement, Dr. Nozawa’s cousin referred him to his Chiropractor and told him he needed to get his back “cracked”. Not too keen on the idea of getting his back “cracked”, he reluctantly made the appointment because he realized the traditional “medical” method was not working. During the first visit he was educated by his Chiropractor on what an “adjustment” was as opposed to just being “cracked”, what his diagnosis meant, what needed to be done and how long it would take to get him back to pre-injury status. Dr. Nozawa’s Chiropractor spent more time with him on his first visit than the medical doctor did in all three visits combined. Dr. Nozawa visited the Chiropractor three times and was able to return back to work full-duty with no restrictions. So impressed with how fast he benefited from Chiropractic care, a few months later he made a life-changing decision to put his transfer to USC for business management on hold and switched his major to Biology.
Dr. Nozawa graduated from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1994 and is licensed to practice in California and Nevada . Dr. Nozawa is a member of the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners (ABIME) and is a Designated Rating Physician for the State of Nevada to perform Permanent Partial Disability examinations for the Workers Compensation Division. Dr. Nozawa is also credentialed to perform Manipulation Under Anesthesia on chronic pain patients and is a member of the Nevada Chiropractic Association and American Chiropractic Association. Dr. Nozawa and his business partner Dr. Sam Colarusso opened and successfully managed one of the first and largest Chiropractic, Medical and Massage multidisciplinary clinic in Las Vegas, 16 years ago. It was and continues to be his belief that Chiropractors and Medical Doctors should put aside their egos and work together for the benefit of the patient. Dr. Nozawa has donated his time to the Salvation Army and is a proud sponsor / supporter of the Nevada Cancer Institute, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and being a former Teamster himself; he is also a big supporter of the Unions in Las Vegas.
Away from the practice, Dr. Nozawa’s interests include working out, golfing, fishing and hiking. Taking annual trips to Utah to relax, hike and fish or traveling to Hawaii to soak in the sun and play some golf is what he loves to do most. Dr. Nozawa has been in private practice and has lived in Las Vegas for over 16 years and is proud to call Las Vegas home. What Dr. Nozawa is most proud of though, is raising his beautiful 7 year old daughter, Drew. Whether it is taking her to Soccer practice, Swimming lessons, Dance, Gymnastics, Miniature Golf or just out for some ice cream….he’s so amazed every single day at how much she’s grown and he considers himself lucky to have such a fun-loving, well-behaved, sweet little girl and he cherishes every moment.
